Day one of the Regatta saw brisk winds, bumpy seas and loads of racing action as the competitors enthusiastically hit the water.

Rotating the boats throughout the event, the teams head to shore at the end of each race to swap boats in a melee of swigging water and re-applying sun cream.

Eight races are planned for the first day.

The third annual Chief Minster's Cup International Youth Regatta kicked off with a welcome party on Friday evening.
